New window-cleaning robot "Windoro" from PIRO [Video]

Researchers from the Pohang Institute of Intelligent Robotics (PIRO) have made and unveiled a robot that would help you do one mundane chore... cleaning the windows. Called "Windoro", the company is planning on making it available for commercial use in the following year. The robot is made up of two modules that sandwich the window to be cleaned, being held together by neodynium magnets. A combination of proximity/distance sensors, altitude adjustment and obstacle detection, enable the Windoro to do its thing, of course with the help of spinning pads and good old detergent to do the dirty work. You've read that right... "again". This all started with a report from TechCrunch saying thatFacebook is maybe working on a mobile phone to enter in the crazy smartphone market. They said that according to a source who allegedly has knowledge on the project, two high-ranking officials are given the job of designing a new smartphone that can easily integrate the phone functions with your Facebook contacts. Another part of the rumor says that the said device is to be targeted at the $50 and below chunk of the market - putting it outside direct competition from the major smartphone competition. Toshiba Qosmio X500 gaming laptop announced
Toshiba has officially announced their refreshed Qosmio X500 gaming laptop. The rich black and red casing tacked a hefty specifications that includes NVIDIA’s high-end GTX 460M discrete graphics, DirectX 11, Optimus technology, and 3D support for its 18.4 gigantic display. You can also choose from Core i7 or i5 processors, SSD range and up to 8GB of RAM. The x-factor for this gaming machine is the simulated Harmon Kardon 5.1 surround sound speakers and backlit keyboard. You'll find this on shelves by September 26th with MSRP of $1,300. Dell CEO hints entry to the 7-inch tablet frenzy

Looks like we have a new standard for tablets... the 7-inch standard. First was Samsung'sGalaxy Tab, then Apple followed suit with the iPad 2, then recently, Dell's CEO Michael Dell gave a hint of what appears to be their entry to the foray which is consequently powered byGoogle's Android mobile operating system. Amidst the fact that their initial offering, the Dell Streak, hasn't been in the market for that long, they are already working on this "other" range of tablets.

She also have the chance to double up her prize money and get another 50K for a charity, she will be competing in LG's Text For Good Challenge. Twitter security flaw exploit now patched

Hundreds of thousands of users from the social-networking site Twitter have been compromised due to a security bugthat causes malicious content from untrusted website to appear as twitted by a particular user without so much as a trouble of even clicking a link. The security hole exploits the capability of "onMouseOver", an event that is used to trigger scripts and others by simply putting your mouse over a link. The malicious links can also be retweeted to the followers of that particular user, causing the bug to be spread to the network at a very fast rate. It also applies to both old andnew twitter layouts. More after the break.
